Function and operation
Blower vanes transport the chopped crop through the spout to the trailer at high speed.
Smooth blower vanes:
These have a straight wear surface. This design creates the greatest airflow, resulting in higher blowing power [00:08]. It is ideal when maximum throwing distance is required.
Serrated blower vanes:
These vanes have a toothed profile. Although they produce slightly less airflow, they offer significant advantages in other areas: lower fuel consumption and less noise during operation.
Tungsten-carbide coating for a longer service life
Westerink Parts blower vanes have an extra-hard tungsten-carbide coating. This coating is deliberately applied only to the upper side of the vane. Wear is therefore lowest at the point where protection matters most, significantly extending service life and reducing maintenance costs per operating hour.
Importance of correct installation
A common error with serrated vanes is incorrect installation. The serrations must be fitted in alternating directions so their working paths overlap. If the serrations are aligned in the same direction, wear to the rear wall of the blower increases extremely quickly. Pay close attention during installation to prevent unnecessary damage.
