Why is this roller so important?
The upper rear feed roller is the final roller before the crop enters the cutterhead. It has three crucial functions: compressing the crop, holding the crop mat so the knives do not pull it in prematurely and feeding it at the correct speed. Unlike the front rollers, this roller must provide the grip on its own because the lower roller is smooth to provide compression.
How do you recognize a worn roller?
